Helping Youth Overcome Barriers
Today’s urban youth face many barriers. Encounters with marginalization and alienation continue to pose as obstacles for these youth to reach their optimal potential. Such disparities often have a negative impact on youth self-efficacy and self-esteem. Urban Therapeutic Solutions provides mentoring programs with a focus on self-esteem building and identity development in order to improve the well being of vulnerable youth and youth with disabilities.

Urban Therapeutic Solutions (UTS), is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on evoking feelings of confidence, independence, and self-worth while best supporting at-risk youth and youth with disabilities between the ages of 8-18. Serving youth in the Metropolitan Chicago area, we purposefully unveil their dreams, passions and fears to help them attain their individual levels of desired success. Understanding that childhood and adolescence is a vital part of our life’s journey, our goal is to steer children, particularly under-served and vulnerable populations, in the right direction as they participate in purposeful activities in order to decrease the likelihood of maladaptive behaviors.
In a world full of instant gratification, social media drama and peer pressure to be trend followers, there is a huge need for youth to experience conscientious thinking and nurturing environments suitable for compressive learning. Serving as a positive force, UTS aspires to encourage thought-provoking and honest conversations through group and one-on-one mentoring. We want to inspire young leaders to be bold enough to take their rightful place in society amongst the leaders of tomorrow.
Staff and volunteers are enthusiastic, compassionate, empathetic and determined to uplift youth. As ethical professionals, they commit to excellence and progression. Mentors and therapists are thoroughly trained to work with youth with behavioral issues.

Dr. Kathy Webb
Dr. Kathy Webb, founder and forward-thinking visionary Executive Director of Urban Therapeutic Solutions, has over three decades of experience as an occupational therapist. She is passionate about self-esteem development for youth through mentoring, encouragement, motivation and demonstration. Dr. Webb is devoted to increasing the number of academically and behaviorally successful students from disadvantaged communities who will become productive members of society.
